sad that we have to ask that question don't you think?

I couldn't give a monkey's who turned up, as long as they enjoy wargaming.

I host gaming nights at the university where I work about six time a year. Usually the attendance is about 60% women and 40% men (as well as a one or two transgender students as well).

Definitely, especially if she's good looking.

OK, OK call me a sexist pig, I've been called worse!!!

The local boardgame club has a significant number of women players, and it has been responsible for at least 2 marriages among the attendees. So I guess the answer would be yes.

How can you tell?

"How can you tell?"

That is how they identify. I should also add, that people who attend these events tend to have a very good time. While our student body and, particularly those who attend these game nights, are a very diverse bunch (in the truest sense, in that they run the political spectrum from fairly far right to fairly far left, and come from various religious backgrounds as well), the identity politics that has become problematic on many campuses doesn't manifest itself in a negative way at these events.
