Just a heads up to all of you with an interest in the Wars of the Roses that the Northamptonshire Battlefields Society is organising a full day conference/study day in Northampton this 27th July (it's a Saturday), from 10:00am to 4:15pm at the Abington Park Museum. Speakers will include Harvey Watson & Phil Steele of the Battlefields Trust, Mike Ingram, author of books on medieval military history such as Bosworth and Northampton, Ann Parry Owen and Jenny Day experts on Welsh poems and medieval weaponry mentioned within them (one of the armies at Edgcote was Welsh, and the Welsh side of things is pretty much all in the poetry) and me, noted Blogger and Secretary of the Society, and shortly to be published author of a major new study of the battle. We will be covering the background to the battle, how the armies fought and revealing the results of our Edgcote 550 research project.

Tickets for non-Society members are £35.00 GBP, which includes parking, tea and coffee during the day and a buffet lunch. You can only order them through the Museum's Eventbrite site:

If you are a Battlefield Trust or Society member then you get a £5.00 GBP discount:

As both Phil & I are wargamers you can expect our content to focus on what wargamers actually need and want to know. I can provide more detail on the subjects being discussed if people are interested, but this posting is long enough for now.

Cheers,

Trebian
