I don't buy magazines regularly now, but used to. It became physically impossible to keep everything. I have a few, but it can be quite frustrating to read adverts for things no longer available. |

The current crop of glossies is a pale shadow of the mags of old in terms of intellectual sophistication. They prioritise flash over substance and studiously avoid any serious military-historical or game mechanics analysis or controversy in favour of shallow, introductory-level fluff pieces – so if I want a thought-provoking read there's no option but to dig out an old mag. |
