As some of you know I'm an old………..well gronard and not a fan of the modern acrylics.
Having got the Mick Farnworth book ( highly reccomended) I was inspired to test some AK paints. I've used a few of them for vehicle painting and rather liked them.
Anyhow got the Pea dot set and have to say rather impressed. The coverage and flow is really good and opacity very good unlike many of the others I've tried. Rather thrown together pics on rapid paint jobs will do some better versions of both later.

Painting Pea Dot at all makes you a very brave man, Leon!

They look good!

Thanks for the report on the AK paints. I'm looking at getting some of those myself, probably the Russian WW2 Vehicle Camo set for my Engineer-Sapper Battalion's tank support.

Leon, I found the AKs a bit thin to work with as a brush-on. What is your secret?

M1,
Too thin is my normal problem with acrylics as well. This set is specifically designed for figures so probably different formula than those meant for vehicles ( airbrushing figs not usual afterall). Otherwise just standard painting over white primer.

LeonAdler,
I don't have a large an issue with other acrylics, and I do admit that I just do a bunch of coats as opposed to one or two…but it was a bit of a learning process.

M1,
The having to do a 'number of coats' has always been a problem for me, painting is enough of a chore without having to repeat steps lol. Thats why until now I've stuck with enamels. one coat, done.
So far these acrylics seem to be as functional as enamels in terms of coverage and flow, will give em a better more thorough test when have some more figs moulded.
