Looking for guidance on uniforms and equipment for late war German pioneer (Heer).

I have a box of Bolt Action German pioneers which turn out to be early/mid war uniforms. Can I just use the equipment supplied on late war grenadier figures and be (reasonably) accurate?

Any links to online materials for a painting guide?

Thanks

Tim

The only difference in the uniforms was that pioneers had black waffenfarbe, otherwise they wore standard Heer uniforms.

All the special engineer stuff (wire cutters, assault shovels, demo backpacks etc) was standard throughout the war.

So yes, putting the gear on late war infantry figures would be fine, as would just painting the supplied figures in mid/late war colours. Who really cares if they have long boots?

Agree the long boots are not such a big deal, but I would just 'prefer' the later war uniforms.

Can I clarify when you say all the stuff is standard throughout the war that also means the special backpacks, grenade bags etc?

Thanks again

Yes, the special backpacks (they were designed for demolition charges in standard sizes), grenade bags etc.
