Do you game in the Space: 1889 universe?

Winston Smith14 Mar 2019 8:10 p.m. PST

No

Tommy2014 Mar 2019 8:20 p.m. PST

Yes

Tommy2014 Mar 2019 8:21 p.m. PST

That should be enough to get the poll started, right?

mghFond14 Mar 2019 8:24 p.m. PST

Nope.

Old Contemptibles14 Mar 2019 8:33 p.m. PST

Did this quite often when it first came out; my son was a real fan. He made a model of the aphid. We bought many of the RAFM models. We have not gamed this in 20 years, probably more — 30 years. We do use the figures, however. Played a John Carter on Mars game last week, with the space 1889 Martians involved.

Lascaris14 Mar 2019 9:26 p.m. PST

I use the rules for historical colonial battles but that's all.

Covert Walrus14 Mar 2019 10:06 p.m. PST

Occasionally. Not as much as I did though.

Bashytubits14 Mar 2019 10:22 p.m. PST

I have in the past. Not currently, but would consider it if some people showed real interest.

I have played a few times, both when it first came out and about 10 years ago. I haven't really thought about it in a while.

KSmyth15 Mar 2019 5:44 a.m. PST

I use the RAFM figures and play play Sky Galleons of Mars. Fallen off my to-do list the past few years.

Wackmole915 Mar 2019 6:02 a.m. PST

yes but not in years

Narratio15 Mar 2019 6:17 a.m. PST

Yes, about 30 years ago, nothing this century though.

mad monkey 115 Mar 2019 6:27 a.m. PST

Yes but not a slave to it.

Close, but more 'heavily influenced by' while plenty of others mixed in, for me. And, within the last year, if I can use my definition.

I soloed some Aeronef that included Martian kites, Black Hat Martian empires vs. British using G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. rules, but had a very S1889 theme.

I have the original RPG book. Like the setting, but I've never played it.

The Last Conformist15 Mar 2019 12:18 p.m. PST

I've done so, but it's about a decade ago and I don't know if I'll ever get back to it.

pvernon15 Mar 2019 2:11 p.m. PST

Yes, current ongoing campaign.

Never.

Bonnaught16 Mar 2019 6:03 a.m. PST

Very fond of Space 1889 and played alot of Sky Galleons & Soldiers Companion in the 90s. The latter got me into historical colonial wargaming, which I still do. I had not used my Space 1889 material in ages but thankfully a good friend has renewed their interest in the period so I have just loaned him my GDW supplements & figures.

Legion 416 Mar 2019 9:25 a.m. PST

Razor7816 Mar 2019 11:33 a.m. PST

deflatermouse10 Apr 2019 4:08 p.m. PST

Yes but not on Mars.
A lot of Earth bound games many years ago. Had a couple of games again last year. Looking at doing my Neo-Confederates in Brazil campaign this year.
