Probably not good for Old West games. McCormick introduced a mechanical baler in 1874, but it made cylindrical bales, not square ones. That's an 1890's-1900's innovation. |

Assuming you're ok with square bales, you can get them pretty darn cheap at Michael's. I think I paid a buck for 8, no painting necessary.
