I mostly play 20mm modern games, many posted at my blog. I fooled around a bit with an alien invasion of modern earth in a couple of games:

I want to take this and expand it, with some aliens that aren't repurposed Tau from 40k. I'm looking for something like the aliens from the Battle of Los Angeles or that Battleship movie. All of the good candidates I've found have been 15mm (tall ones in that scale) or 28mm. A bit of scale mismatch is fine. Looking for recommendations.

Current candidates:
Rebel Valonians

Clear Horizon Hura

Reaper Kulathi

Khurasan Invaders

CP Models Stealth Troopers

Appreciate any input and recommendations!

Look at Badger Games' Drantakh Empire maniple troopers.

I mix Starguard!

and Blasted Planets

with my 1/72 stuff. Scales pretty well together. Not sure you will find what you're looking for though.

While not exactly what I was after, I went for the Elheim Hives…

Their Not-Blakes 7, Not-Federation types might work for a more humanoid enemy, although they lack heavy weapons…
