In the latest of a series of postings on my blog in which I am doing an inspection parade of every army in my wargaming collection, I turn away from historical Napoleonics, and move into the realms of fantasy:

This posting features a parade of my Warhammer Empire army (circa late-1990s), which were the first figures I painted when I returned to the wargaming hobby after a two-decade pause.

Here are a few sample pics from the above link.

Absolutely beautiful. It is tough to compare to the sheer elegance of the perrys figs back in the day.

Well done!
Well painted Empire armies are one of my favorite in WHFB.

So cool. I can look at painted WFB minis all day. And sometimes do!

This is the way an Empire army should be: with regiments from all over the Empire sporting their home state colors. That is how i've Painted mine despite the move in later years to paint the entire army in one uniform.

Oh and before GW decided to give us Age of Sigmar and kill off WFB.

Having an Empire army with units from all over is a nice concept, but can end up looking a bit like an "explosion in paint factory" when every unit sports different colours.

I am currently slowly painting Empire figures from 90's, coming mainly from Averland with supporting units from near by provinces. I am trying to introduce some unifying elements to tie the different units together: for example a unit of Wissenland bergjaegers have yellow feathers on their hats to tie them up with the yellow on Averland uniforms.

Griefbringer: To each their own. Painting a large army all the same color would drive me nuts.

Looks great! My own Empire army is composed of several companies of mercenaries and knightly orders.
