Is there any one producing 15mm mounted US Cavalry in Montana Hats, suitable for the Expedition to Mexico in 1916 – 17. Or failing that 20mm?

Andoreth04 Mar 2019 4:35 a.m. PST

If you do not mind swapping heads Peter Pig does Montana hatted heads and a range of WW1 and SCW cavalry types which could provide suitable bodies. After a quick look the most promising would appear to be the WW1 Russians with carbines.

In 20mm both Raventhorpe and Early War Miniatures do ranges for both sides.

Shell Hole Scenics also has a 20mm range of figures for the Mexican Revolution.

If you paint any cavalry scouts, be sure to include one who is very tall and has red hair. That would be Leslie Bradford Bell, my grandfather.

Am butting in to voice my appreciation for both Shellhole Scenics and Early War Miniatures. Great ranges run by great guys.

Would also like to recommend Frontline Wargaming, which produces Americans in montanas: link

All 20mm but as everyone is pitching I thought they might be of interest.

Strange I was about to post on how Shell Hole and Early War match in size, but now would ask to expand that to all these ranges…how do they compare in heft and height? Or, based on Shell Hole's and EWM rather compete ranges, would you just go with one of them and not mix manufacturers?

Richard Baber03 Apr 2019 7:57 a.m. PST

I mix`n match, people are not the same, why would you want your figures to looked cloned??
