Painting some Blitz and Maultiers and am wondering what color I should paint the truck bed. Some images I have seen have them painted as wood, others have them the same shade as the outer vehicle. |

Don't know if the Germans followed the same pattern, but the interior of US Army vehicles were painted the same OD green as the exteriors. Jim |

Pretty sure the Germans also used the some paint inside and outside for trucks |

After a load of ammo has been unloaded the paint would be so scuffed and abraded as to be mostly mud, dust and natural aged wood. |

but the interior of US Army vehicles were painted the same OD green as the exteriors. Having been able to see lots of American trucks in person, thats what I do for my duece and a halfs and 3/4 ton trucks. Pretty sure the Germans also used the some paint inside and outside for trucks That was my guess too, except for some examples of models that survived past early 43 where I noticed the cab interior remained grey while the outside was repainted. paint would be so scuffed and abraded as to be mostly mud, dust and natural aged wood. So drop some stowage in the bed and weather it up and no one will tell either way. Sounds good. |
