"PFC C-in-C is closing by 7/31/2019" Topic

PFC C-in-C announced that it has to move from its current space by 7/31/2019 and Randy has decided to close the business rather than move.

Randy is looking into selling off the lines and contracting out his casting and mold making skills.

He makes a variety of scales and periods including, ww2/modern/scifi 1/285th and ww1/ww2/modern 1/2400 naval miniatures.

He doesn't respond to emails, so it will be hard to do business with him.

Sad to see C-in-C go. I have bought many C-in-C products over the years.

He is better about responding to emails if you get the right email address, Bill, but it isn't always clear which one is the right one.

Hopefully the lines get sold off. There are a lot of good ones.

I have a lot of their items, and want to buy more before he closes.

A lot of his vehicles, vessels, etc. are of excellent quality, rivaling those of GHQ, for far less money.

Best of luck in finding a new home for the ranges. It would be a terrible shame to the wargaming community, if some of the excellent minis suddenly become unavailable.

They do a lot of vehicles in 6mm that you can't get anywhere else. Some of their soviet stuff is truly excellent.

They also do the Renegade Legion scifi range…

Won't lie even tho it may sound silly. I've been in a sad mood all day after hearing this. I understand his reasoning but still sucks. I hope someone carries on the awesome lines. It be a major hot to the 6mm community if they're taken out completely.

I've emailed twice in February, to two different email addresses, and have been unable to get a response.

It's always sad for all of us when a company will close, no matter if now the competition for 6mm miniatures is big.
But I have a problem with pfc-cinc.com :the site never works! I have found in the past other messages saying it is working, but some still say it doesn't. What is the trick? At least the facebook page works. Also, hope someone from Europe will buy at least some ranges of miniatures…

Valderian is correct in that it is truly sad to see another name fade from the scene and we all lose a little when that happens. Hopefully the company will be sold and the lines continue but if not one can only wish all the folks at CinC the best for the future. Stock up while you can do so on the items that you want or may want down the road.

That's a huge loss to our hobby. His work was amazing, especially for the time in which the company thrived.

I placed my first final order today. I should only have about a half dozen more final orders before I think I can live without C-in-C…

1/285 is getting a bit small for my eyes, but, WTH, some useful kit. Best wishes for the future.

Just had to happen now, didn't it? I haven't got a home now, and am in no state to buy hobby items, so cannot get a last order in, and now they close just when I cannot possibly justify ordering one last order of Renegade Legion craft. Here's hoping someone picks up those.

Let's hope the rumor about a new owner is true, and let's hope the new owner is better at communication on social media.

I am e-pals with the owner of the SEM Line. He and I have been emailing. I am hoping he at least gets his greens back and cast models. And gets a new company to carry the SEM line and give it better service than previously.

E.g. Exodus Wars sold all over to HLS Models, and Angel Barracks to Cp Models. So here's hoping PFC/CinC can do similar …

For every new mold that is made, another will be put on a shelf in a garage or a basement somewhere, never to be seen again.

Received this in an email today:

Hopefully, all orders will be done before the end of May when the molds for the tanks, aircraft and 1/200 ships will go to Canada.
NO orders will be taken after this newsletter. Keep checking this to see how things are going and the items that will still come from this site. Sci-fi, N-scale etc.
Notices of new items will be here and a link to Legions IV Hire will be added.as the products come back up to speed.

Bad news is sounds like he has shut ordering off on his site.

Good news is it looks like LegionsIVhire bought some of his micro armor lines. I've done a fair bit of business with Legion on the terrain side and he is a solid guy so I'm looking forward to doing more.

all the C -in-C stuff is marked as new but "out of stock" currently.

My Marines thank Randy for his Phrogs that lifted them into their AO at Cancon '19. GHQ don't make a phrog or a lot of stuff CinC does.

I for one am greatly encouraged to see Legions IV Hire taking hold of the PFC C-in-C line.

But … is this actually Legions IV Hire for production? Or just as the retail front end?

When Leva sold his line he sold it to DB Miniatures, with Legions IV Hire as the front end (sales channel). I wonder if the same will take place here.

In any case the Leva line seems to have landed in good hands. My admittedly brief experiences with Leva and L4H have all been quite positive.

I still can't get an answer from C-in-C. And the new guy has stopped answering email. Not a good sign.

On the plus side Legions IV Hire has added a bunch of Nam era sandbagged Firebase style bunkers to his lineup!
