Anyone have opinions on Mouse Pad vs PVC Deep Cut mats? I think I lean toward the mouse pad, but since it is water would be PVC be shinier finish and look better. I've never seen and Deep Cut mats of any type in person, so appreciate advice before ordering.

Using for 28mm Pirate ships.

I have two Deep Cuts mouse pad mats and think they work great. water is shiny on a sunny day, not so much on cloudy days. I prefer the mouse pad material and as I base my ships not being shiny means my bases match my mouse mats.

Here is a close up picture of one of my mats:

I'm not a big fan of PVC mats, as the edges never seem to lay flat.

I really like the look of Deep Cut neoprene mats, but the shipping cost is a deal breaker. If they ever come up with a US distributor, I'll buy a houseful of them!

Thanks

I just bought a 3D printer and am going to try to make a board like in some of the Blood & Plunder big games shown online. The right water is my final decision point.

I got the ocean mat from Frontline gaming and I think that it's nice. it's mousepad material and has a little sheen to it.

I have the cigar box mat and no matter how I fold it it always lays flat

Anyone seen the Deep Cut next to the Frontline water mat? Wonder how they compare visually?

I have some Cigar Box and like them a lot. Think I want the mouse pad mats for water on this project. Moving big ship models across anything else seems it would bunch easily.
