This should give you an idea of what my game for this year's convention of the Seven Years War Association will look like. In this shot, you see 1:300 scale barges and longboats departing for an early morning cutting-out expedition on the coast of France, circa 1759. The stalwart British seamen and marines will have to penetrate a rocky cove and face shore guns and a (no doubt) determined defense by the crew of the sloop they intend to capture, but they'll be driven by a sense of duty and dreams of glory (and prize money).

I'd say you've outdone yourself, but I'm pretty sure that's not possible. Looking forward to more pictures. And playing in person, of course. :-)

Is this scenario format all-players-vs-the-GM?

That would depend on the number of players. The scenario can be configured for anywhere from two to five players, with or without the GM. All players-vs-the GM is certainly possible.

I still have a bit of terrain work to do, but the sticky point is going to be the larger ships – a British brig and a French privateer sloop. Since both begin the game at anchor, and it looks silly to have a model at anchor with all sails set, I'm building two versions of each one . . . one under sail and the other with all sail furled.

Will you be using your own rules?

Yes. I'll be running this scenario with "Away, Boarders".

I might also run a couple frigate duels with "Captains Bold".

Very cool – can't wait to see the AAR of the game.

Something to look forward to.

Nice modeling. BTW, isn't that an EIC gridiron flag?

It is. I was hoping no one would notice.

I'm still working on the larger vessels for the scenario, so I substituted an already-completed Indiaman for the photo and didn't bother to change the ensign.

Call me lazy.

Or imaginative. There were times when an EIC fleet *might* have had the gall to raid a French harbor on its way by… grin

Well done!
