I finally managed to get a few games of Cruel Seas in, after getting the Starter Set at xmas. Here are some photos and thoughts on the game at my blog. Drop by and have a look…

Cool games. Thanks

Looks neat!

Thanks for sharing your battle report.

Don't feel too bad about the ramming incident. It happened more often than you would think in WWII, and sometimes even on purpose, especially by the British trying to damage the Germans using the technique of last resort.

Indeed, if you haven't had at least one juicy collision in a game you haven't been trying hard enough :)

Seems like you had some fun, albeit with some rules reservations. Had exactly the same thoughts myself after we played a few scenarios, but admittedly everyone had a great time and since that is the point of wargaming for us, I guess CS is a success!

Is that an MDF freighter? It looks quite nice – who makes it?

The freighter is indeed an MDF model. I bought it from JB MDF PRODUCTS on eBay…

Been holding off on trying out this new system … don't know if can last much longer.

Thanks for sharing. Regarding damage; try boats with 66% damage can no longer go full speed
Cheers

Regarding damage; try boats with 66% damage can no longer go full speed

That sounds like a sensible suggestion…I may well adopt that

Thanks for sharing. I'm still not convinced CS is worth the price, but I'd love to play these fights.
