I am thinking of adding the box set of elephants to my Warlord Hail Caesar army. On the box it says that there are components to make them Roman elephants. Has anyone out there built them and can tell me if they size up OK with Warlords mini's. thanks in advance.

The Victrix elephants are African elephants- which are not modern bush elephants but smaller varieties that used be be extant in Eritrea and Somalia and North African.

The Victrix models are indeed beautiful and the Roman crew version can be made- (although it seems that in Republican Roman times the crews would have been Numidians- which are also included in this very complete set.)

Here's my effort- the model is excellent. The decals help if you want a busy looking howdah.

The Aventine on the left is Asian- the Victrix on the right for size with a reasonable- and also exceptional, Asian model in 28mm.

I do not know how large the Warlord Asian armored elephant is, but Asian elephants are larger if scaled properly. However, my instinct form the images provided give me the impression that the Warlord elephant is extremely large- larger than any Asian elephant.

Thank you for your great pictures and info. I have ordered a box with decals. I like the idea or info on the types of elephants it will come in handy if they are much different in size.
