Are there any specifically Star Was rules out there capable of handling a 6-8 player game, with players running a pltoon sized force? i know I could adapt a "generic" set. But I have a noob who wants to work on a game and I'd like to start with a rule set that is already designed for Star Wars, and includes ATATs, snow speeders, Jedi, etc. |

Yep. I have run Fubar Star Wars with 200 infantry and 20 plus vehicles on the table for my Clone Wars games. I am the gent who created the stats for it.

Does Galacta 3 have stats etc. for Star Wars? And it looks a lot more like players run a handful of figures, not a platoon? |

Galacta-3 gets as close to Star Wars as a commercial set could go and not get sued, EC. But I don't think it's what you're looking for. Players run smaller numbers of figures and it lacks rules for the vehicles. (Truthfully, I think "vehicle" is a poor way to describe sending someone off to war in a mechanical elephant. Is there a better term for Lucas' folly? "Lucy" perhaps? Or "Modok?") |

You can do vehicles in Galacta 3, the rules allow for that. They should also be able to handle a platoon sized engagement as the rules are fairly simple, roll to hit = if hit roll to save, no save you are down. Just modifiers for cover and terrain features. Special abilities for Jedi types. |

We now use Galactic Heroes as our default ser of rules for Star Wars. There's even a codex that lists profiles for the main characters. |
