I have the Danube book in hard copy but at that price I'm almost tempted to buy it again to have it handy! |

4th Cuirassier, I am in the same boat as you, I have all three volumes in hard copy, but at $3.90 USD for all three volumes on a Kindle and have it everywhere I take my Kindle… I am sorely tempted… Not sure why I am resisting though. I picked up the Grouchy book as I have the other ones in hardback. That being said, you can find Oman's Peninsula books for $2.51 USD ea and Field's Quatre Bras: French Perspective @ $2.51 USD as well on Kindle. |

Like Rick32 said, you have to read them in hard back first. Books like this need maps you can actually see and refer back to. But then the back up, on Kindle, as you sit in that bar in Paphos, or squeeze into that cramped airline seat transAtlantic, while the Everton team reclines in the front of the 747……great. The word is that this dying technology it seems…….

Sale was on Kindle, search Napoleonic Wars then sort by lowest price. There are a lot of period memoirs for 99 cents but sometimes you get lucky and you find books that are discounted for a day or week or month that are normally $10.00 USD + but on sale for less than $3.00 USD. My advice is if it is a book you want, you jump on it. I have taken the plunge to get books I wanted to read that I was hesitant to pay hardback price. I check Amazon frequently for this reason. |

You know I do that all the time with Airfix kits on Amazon and once got their 1/350 HMS Illustrious for £9.99 GBP. For some reason I never thought to do it with books (even though if you search Amazon for "Airfix -Revell" and sort by price, the cheapest items are usually back numbers of Airfix Magazine for £0.75 GBP). I've just bought The Battle of Waterloo: Europe in the Balance by Rupert Matthews for £0.98 GBP and Kincaid's Random Shots From A Rifleman for £0.90 GBP. I'm now giving serious thought to getting John Hussey vol 1 for £2.39 GBP….got both vols in hardback but at that price it's almost rude not to… |

4th Cuirassier do not wait, I scored the Husseys Vol 1 on Kindle for $2.99 USD. I have never seen that price again and I have yet to see vol 2 discounted (though I keep hoping) |

@ rick You're right – done. The way I sold it to myself is, it's no more than the excess luggage charge would be if I wanted to travel with any of these… |
