Very cool pre-painted miniatures (2D plexiglass but they work well for me).

Now that I look a second time. Its pretty damn cool. I might grab something I know i'll never paint and collect but still have interest in. Two armies for $150 USD is tempting. I'm contemplating Greek/Persian, AWI, or ACW.

I asked them as I was confused by the offering. For USD 99 you get two opposing factions (in 18mm).

They are flats? Does that make them real miniatures?

I'm intrigued, but the troops ratios are out of whack, especially when you look at infantry v cavalry v artillery.

@Mr Elmo

They are as real as you want them to be or not to be.

Interesting.
If you look st them from the side, they're flats!
Head on, they're … not. grin
I played a few games with Paper Terrain's printed ACW miniatures. Once the game starts, you don't notice.

Next technology breakthrough…
Print on thin film. Laminate the edges. Inflate! Can I patent that now and make a fortune, or do I have to show how it's done? grin

Years ago, I might have been tempted. Now I'm set in my ways.

@79thPA

I'm not real familiar with what forces would look like for ACW, but there are some starter packs as well albeit similar ratios…The following links might help. If you figure out how to do ACW let me know. I think a couple of us are going to go in together on it.

@Winston

I think these would be pretty good for kids too. Perhaps a little more durable than paper mini's. I have some elementary school kids and their friends that these would work nicely for. Keep those grubby little paws off the nice collection figures. Looks like the effort to assemble would be less than paper minis as well.

I saw these and almost pulled the trigger…till I realized I already had minis for the time periods I was interested in….

I think they're a great idea….

Very interested in looking into this. As been said, maybe an area that I will never get around to painting.

I am tempted by the 28mm AWI starter but the beards on a lot of the figures are a little off putting, or am l being too picky?

BrockLanders19 Feb 2019 8:39 p.m. PST

Pretty cool looking

I went with the 18mm ACW set, which I will be using with my students. I wish I could afford to get more as I think this will be an excellent way to get teens involved in both history and the hobby.
