Hi All,

Back to some Cruel Seas models painting.

I've got two British armed trawlers to get fit for duty, and decided to do them in different paint schemes (one w/black hull, one in grey). The sides of this black model were smoothed and cut down slightly, and the life boat relocated to the opposite section of the deck to make it appear slightly different on the game board than the other [standard] model. The "HMS Black Adder" :))) is done except for her flagging.

Here she is plying the cold North Sea -

Very nice. I just ordered one. It looks as though the weapons positions are separate pieces. I plan to attach then with magnets so I can also have an unarmed trawler, too.

Thank You Guys, and good luck with your trawler projects too!

You might find this a useful link (at the bottom of the webpage there's also access to MTBs info and for other craft) -

One thing I modded for painting guns and crews with recently, was to take my "sticky board" (w/2-sided carpet tape), and cut a few 1/4" thick fun foam blocks out of a foam sheet, and arrange them on a piece, to better pillow the miniature strips for when painting. If the slot doesn't hold all strips securing, you can make a gentle bend in their middle, to provide greater friction between the sides of the pillow block (thought this tip might work for others here too) -

Very nicely done.
