…On film? The house of Tudor ruled England from the crowning of Henry VII at the end of the Wars of the Roses until the death of Elizabeth I in 1603; thus encompassing the entirety of the 16th century. The reign of the Tudors was marked by sex, violence, intrigue, religious unrest, warfare on land and sea, and questionable family values; all conducted by lavishly costumed people in great palaces, green hunting parks and splendid gardens. It is therefore a Godsend to the dramatist and the filmmaker. Beginning in the silent era and continuing unabated to the present day, a veritable flood of film and television productions have depicted the lives of the Tudors. So -- who is your favorite performer in the role of one of the Tudor monarchs? Ron |

It also came in four-door, but the two-door coupe was the sexiest.

I've always been partial to Mock Tudor, seems he was a late addition to the dynasty though. |

Just to clarify:
So -- who is your favorite performer in the role of one of the Tudor monarchs? So, for example, I like Miranda Richardson as Elizabeth in Blackadder II. Ron |

So I suppose Perkin Warbek and Lambert Simnel don't count either? They were certainly performers in the role of Tudor-era monarchs. |

So I suppose Perkin Warbek and Lambert Simnel don't count either? To my surprise, yes. Perkin Warbeck was played by Mark Umbers in the 2005 television film Princes in the Tower: imdb.com/title/tt0462488/. I am unfamiliar with Lambert Simnel, i need to look him up. Ron |

Charles Laughton and Richard Shaw as Henry VIII. |

Charles Laughton in The Private Life of Henry VIII. Though Flora Robson's portrayal of Elizabeth in The Sea Hawk is also a delight. And Warbeck and Simnel were NOT Tudors, rather pseudo-Yorkists. |

Who played Henry VII in the BBC "Shadow of the Tower" in the 70's? I remember enjoying that, especially as it was a period overshadowed by Henry VIII. |

To be clear, which were the historical periods not
marked by sex, violence, intrigue, religious unrest, warfare on land and sea, and questionable family values ? But to the OP, In The Power of Three, Amy Pond, Dr. Who's companion accidentally marries Hnery VIII, so I would go with Karen Gillan. |
