Tis a pity they gave such short shift to the question of the Americas. Twas this (series of)(meetings) what gave rise to the concept of "no peace beyond the line" (tho that phrase would have to wait 100 more years to be coined). They couldn't agree on who owned what in the new world, so they said screw it. Our treaty will have no Force in the new world. Out there let the chips fall whence they may.
