"Six weeks after US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of American troops from Syria, the US-led coalition of 79 partner countries and organizations gathered in Washington on Thursday to assess the fight against ISIS and the situation in eastern Syria.

I think the US should be there to push back against Iran and Russia but after 18 years of war in Western Asia and the Middle East I get Trump's point, great nations don't fight endless wars. Let the locals stand on their own two feet like Israel. Problem is the bad guys might stand up again. Now America is energy independent though (thanks to Bush) Bleeped text 'em maybe?

18 years of war in this forsaken region after 9/11 and the place isn't any better (and some might say it's worse) now than it was before. Were the billions of dollars spent and thousands of lives lost worth it? Probably not.

You get the US troops out of Syria so they won't get caught in the coming crossfire between the groups moving into the ISIS-vacuum. Besides, they are only an hour away in Iraq, so you can go back in if you need to. The only mistake Trump made was announcing it ahead of time…

3,000+ more years of the locals killing one another, I suspect.
