I got a news blurb today that Brigade Games will be having a KickStarter for Paul Hicks sculpted 28mm AWI figs soon -

Look at those faces! They are all different. Amazing!

Winston Smith09 Feb 2019 8:15 a.m. PST

I don't need more 1768 Warrant uniform figures.
However, I'm always open for Ragged Continentals, Militia, well dressed Continentals who can also be Loyalists, etc.

Since it's a Kickstarter, I can wait until the whole line comes out.
My table is full, but they look great.

Nice looking figures.

John just needs a new manufacturer to add his ranks.

Good Looking Sculpts!

Yup, Roger. Two unit minimum to Jine the OFM's Army!

Guess I'll have to readjust the budget for this year.

I wonder whether they're compatible with Perry AWI? Given that most gamers interested in the AWI will already have Perry figures, I suspect that they will have to be compatible if the range is to be successful.

It does seem an odd choice for a Kickstarter, what with existing competition in 25mm / 28mm AWI ranges: Old Glory, Front Rank, Redoubt, Warlord Games, Dixon, King's Mountain Miniatures, Fife & Drum, Perry Miniatures, even the old Hinchliffe range. They do look like lovely figures, however.

They look a lot like Perry

I see people here complaining that we have "too many" ranges if Early Imperial Rome or French Napoleonic Infantry.
This is the first time I've seen American Revolution categorized like that. grin does that mean we are now Big Time?
For the record, I already have several units from the ranges mentioned. In a few cases, many units.
I always look forward to a new manufacturer, perhaps in the vain hope that they will do Washington Crossing the Delaware.

FlyXwire11 Feb 2019 6:57 a.m. PST

Big Time? Yes, yes it does!

This.

And how about some more British line in campaign dress. AFAIK, the only manufacturers who do them in 28mm are Perry and Fife and Drum.

Like these a lot. I hope they do a Washington. We need an aggressive looking Washington. Tired of the ones where he is tipping his hat.

AuttieCat13 Feb 2019 12:21 p.m. PST

My $.02 USD,

These do look like BEAUTIFUL figures! Do they 'inter-match' with any other manufacturers line of A.W.I. era figures?
If yes, which manufacturers??

My personal 'want-list' is a mounted or dismounted William 'Billy' Lee (Washington's personal servant).

p.s. Any gamers living close to Warren County, PA., who might like to game? If yes, drop me a line.

When does the Kickstarter begin? I can't find it on their website. I must be crazy, buying more AWI.

Did someone complain that there were "too many" ranges of American Revolution figures?

Winston Smith13 Feb 2019 5:59 p.m. PST

Certainly not me!

The Kickstarter will start at the end of the month. I am currently working on it.

The range is sculpted to be compatible with Perry Miniatures.

I started the range at the beginning. We will be progressing through the war.

Paul has done a stunning job on the range to date.

Of course, I would appreciate your support during the Kickstarter. Finding and hitting a bunch of stretch goals will go a long way to not only bring the first sets to backers and then market, but allow me to reinvest into the range at a faster rate than just releasing the range normally.

Thanks,

Lon
