Our host, Elliott, having put on a scenario last autumn that was very loosely based on Wartenburg, decided it might be interesting to do it again, with a much more historically based order of battle and terrain layout. This resulted in a much different type of game than the Gentlemen Wargamers are accustomed to (less maneuver, more head-to-head), but very enjoyable nonetheless. This time, the Prussians under von Yorck (44 battalions, 24 squadrons, 6 batteries) must fight their way out of their Elbe bridgehead into the very teeth of Morand's reinforced division (24 battalions, 8 squadrons, 4 batteries). It turned out to be a much harder slog than anticipated.

Very cool. This is one of the battles I would like to try out. Now I just need all that Italian Line. Chris |

Very nice. Which set of rules did you use. Napoleonic Command or ESR? |

Thanks, Dale. This one was done with NapCom II. The scenario is a little on the smallish end for ESR (roughly 2 division-sized formations versus about 4) but a comfortable size for NapCom. |

Very nice. Once I realised I had to click on one picture at a time to get captions, I enjoyed it much more. Thanks for sharing – looks an interesting scenario. The cake also looked nice. |
