So with certain caution I ask.

Where guard Hussars equipped with lances for front rank.

If yes is it fair to suggest the depot Sdqn held them too, or just 1st Squadron, which I gurss is akways with the field deployment.

As far as I know, the Guard Hussars were never equipped with lances.

Thanks. I did think as one of the oldest Guard regt they would think it, erm, inappropriate. :-)

I think lances were only taken up by some Hussar regiments in late 1812/1813 in any case.

No they did not carry them. You are aware, I hope, that their uniforms changed some time prior to 1812. They had formerly worn blue dolmons and red pelisses. This was changed to red for both. That's why I intend to paint mine from the earlier period. Just a choice of aesthetics. I don't care if my figures are from different periods, as long as they look good!

For me this will require a major conversion, including HaT early Russian infantry heads with hand made "falling feather" plumes. But I've already done this for the Soum Hussars, who's beautiful turquoise and yellow uniforms changed to all grey in 1812. Yech.

All the info I have indicates the Guard Hussars did not carry lances certainly in 1812.

For a list of the line regiments which did, and other interesting detail, see-
