NEVER been a smoker, thankfully.

thumbs up

Haven't found that to be an issue anywhere. I used to be a smoker and I didn't slow things down.

In past years they have caused a lot of problems at a 'major summer Convention in Australia', generally by forcing & jamming open doors, defeating the limited aircon so they could then stand in the doorways smoking leaving everyone else suffering from both heat and high humidity. When the organizers went round and closed the doors they were jammed open again with a few minutes.

I haven't bothered to go back for the last few years because I'm not really into that sort of self abuse, I can stay home with aircon that works. But the stall holders miss out of several hundred dollars in sales as I buy elsewhere on line instead and save $$.

Anyone jamming open a door which may be a fire door should be asked to leave forthwith.

Surely not many smokers left in the hobby?

von Schwartz07 Feb 2019 7:13 p.m. PST

Not many smokers left, period!

In the Northern Va. Wash DC Metro Area I don't know of
any smokers in the Hobby.
Only one group I know of does cigar's outside after
the game with Adult Beverages.

Well, bsrlee, the whole disgusting habit has always been the epitomy of selfishness, with self-destructive fools allowed to impose their fowl, noxious, suicidal stupidity on the innocents around them. Had they been obliged to wear a plastic bubble on their heads to contain their carcinogenic filth I wouldn't have minded. What annoys me most is that such people were allowed to both make my working life extremely unpleasant for many years and severely stifle my social life in my youth – and yet even now the few who pig-headedly persist still have the nerve to ruin your and many others' enjoyment of their hobby with their thoughtlessness. The convention organisers need to impose some order and eject these idiots at the first transgression.
