"The real stories about the sailors, soldiers and marines that everyone in the war movies called "Tex." Stories that all too often didn't have a happy ending. Stories of high school classes enlisting en mass – and of heroes returning one at a time…."

I have a collection of true stories from the combatants. Some are part of a book about an Army Division that fought in the Phillipines and Okinawa written by soldiers who were there. Another was a Divisional yearbook. I also have over 50 pieces of V-mail written by relatives who were wounded in Europe.

I live and work in Texas. The courthouse in which I office from has magnificently rendered portraits of all of our county's war dead. The one exception is the portrait of Audie Murphy, who grew up in this county but obviously survived the war.

Cool link, Armand.
