Yes that's it…but I'm not sure of the date here. David Weber on YouTube talks about a tv series. |

My main thought is Vaporware. My second is that it should be a cheap movie, take the "talky" bits of BSG (when they ran out of SFX budget) and expand it by 1000% and you have the Honor Harrington novels. Scene after scene after scene of pouring coffee (and hot chocolate) and conference room blather. How exciting! |

An HH movie would cost a lot of money to make and is unlikely to happen because, outside of its limited fandom, it lacks a widespread mainstream audience to justify the expense. It will likely suffer the same underwhelming box office performances of failures like 'John Carter,' 'Ender's Game,' 'Valerian' and 'Mortal Engines' in today's crowded release market. For it to happen the best platform for it is a TV series on streaming on-demand services like Netflix if the producers can keep the costs down. |

I could see it coming up as a possible film/tv show to cash in on the success of The Expanse. Although really once you get past the first book Honor is already commanding multiple ships and it grows exponentially from there which makes it hard to have a hero ship such as the enterprise, galactica or rocinante as most combat is fleet based. Politics abounds or course, lots of internal plotting and evil bad guys running things in the background. |

I fear you are right. The choices would be to dumb it down for the market, which could work financially but would infuriate the fans, or maintain the spirit and intelligence of the source and make a movie that mystifies most of the people who haven't read the books. But *maybe* they'll create a movie that helps people who can't follow, say, her mental calculations of velocities and trajectories to understand and appreciate hard sci fi, maybe they'll thread the needle and have a smart film that makes money. If they can resist the urge to politicize it. I don't know. It's not my money, so sure, give it a try, I'm willing to be optimistic. |

It is a Reddit posting with a link that says April Fools. From 4 years ago. I agree with the Earl, though, if they were to make one, it would have to be a cable series. Rob |

You know, a film or TV series based on David Drake's Leary and Mundy RCN novels would also show intelligently-written SF and would let the producers have a "hero ship." Happens I'm very partial to the Princess Cecille. |

Nearly everybody around her dies. Just a warning to actors trying out for supporting cast… ;-) |
