Slow start but the Zero is what counts.

The year is off to a mediocre start. I hadn't expected to do Medievals but a good deal on some painted figures got me a good size force and with Perry releasing the Mounted Knights getting them completed the project. Still ahead of the game so far.

I'm well on the way to my goal of 350 painted minis for the year!

One of my main projects for the year is to paint up the large stack of minis I got when Warlord Games was blowing out Terminator Genisys

I painted 32 resistance fighters, (24 from the Terminator set and 8 from the paramilitary troops Warlord got from Wargames factor). 12 Terminators and 9 Terminator casualties from both Warlord and some old minis from Palladium Game's Rifts line from the 90's. I have 16 more Terminators lined up and might have finished them tonight if I didn't lose a piece of my airbrush (I found it while cleaning up).

That alone is 53 minis, of about 90 I estimate for the Terminator project.

I also have a lot of random minis that have been prepped and primer laying around my painting area from when we were playing in a D&D game regularly. Alot.

From those piles, and others, I painted to following.

4 were rats
7 fantasy civilians
2 spiders (they just fit onto a 25mm base)
and 5 Gates of Antares guys (C3 troopers I think, I don't actually play the game)

A Total of 84 minis! That's probably more than I painted last YEAR.
I accidentally bought 5 FireFry's from the Star Ship Troopers game though.

Such fine achievements. I failed dismally in January (and will do so in February also probably as I have Nickstarted the tribals). One reason was 3 weeks of family holiday but the main culprit was Nick Northstar and his cursed sale. So, Jan 2019:

Hopefully I make progress this year. Last year I was ahead until November when something called "Old Glory" brought me under even. I'm not quite going to go with the nuclear option of buying no minis but I definitely plan to keep it down to near zero. So stop making shiny stuff!!

I am back in this year. Definitely going to make a dent in things. I decided to take the "ultra" pledge, therefore no purchasing any minis or terrain. I have so much I need to get a handle on it before I go any further. Goals for the year are to get some serious painting and basing done so here goes;

Wow some of you guys are hardcore painters! My pledge for the year is to paint more than I buy but also to do something mini related every day, whether its painting, cleaning, priming, etc.

In my case I had a VERRY productive holiday break where I didn't actually finish anything. But I got 2-3 dozen minis base coated. I ran out of varnish and wash.

I paint in the dining room where I can talk with SWMBO and listen to TV from the family room. Plus, I had a lot of time off work in January.

Not chastisement, just discussing my modality for painting, which may be different than yours.

Since I am now an 28+ year denizen of the East Coast (of the USA and Japan), I have basically lived that long in houses without basements. So, I've made some adjustments. I'm still not sure what the Hell I'm supposed to do if we have a tornado …

700 figures to paint for Historicon. Will need to do at least 35 figures per week. Planning on hosting at Historicon a game of the 1929 Sino- Soviet War. Will tally at the end of each month.
