I've just sorted out the photos of the second unit of my Late Roman army for Mortem et Gloriam, using figures originally bought (and some painted) in the 1980s.

This time I re-used mostly old painted figures – not a great idea as the degree of re-painting needed to bring them to near modern standards was probably more than if I'd stripped them and started again! I also hit a few problems with figures irreparably damaged by lead rot though this did give me the opportunity for a bit of conversion and modification work to make something out of odds and ends from the lead pile.

I've a few more pictures and fuller description on my blog.

Great looking stuff and shows what can be done with smaller scales. = Bigger units, bigger tables, more maneuver room, more money in the wallet -- what's not to love?
If I see one more 25/28 MM game with wall to wall phalanxes going straight across the table I'm going to scream !!
