What are the colors used to pain the interior of SCW tanks. I have seen white, red primer and German gray for the panzer Is interios for different periods during WWII, but nothing for the SCW. I haven't seen any reference or suggestion color for the T-26 tanks. Does anyone know? |

I would guess t26 white. Scw is not my thing but… Afaik german same as early war. Cream / off white for walls. Floor grey green ( red oxide was later ). Some bits like transmission and periscopes green. You'd have to be doing pretty large scale to worry about that though. Inside of hatches same as outside which is 3 colour. |

Thank you. Yes, I am looking at 1:35 models. I don't have to worry about interior colors with my 15mm tanks. |

Probably white as it would help make the interior less dark, hence easier to do tasks, etc. If you can see better … |

Legion 4 I would think that's the case, but I have seen tanks with red and gray interiors, both pictures and with models. I know some of the red interiors in German tanks were later in the war when white paint was getting scarce so the red primer is all you got. Even so, we are talking about the mid-1930s… and I have seen all three colors in one place or another [French and British tanks] |

Hi. This is a T26 that was restored at El Goloso, the headquarters of the Brunete armoured division and the place of a small tank museum at Madrid. This is interesting as there are photos of the interior with the original colors: link This is a restored one at Valencia. No photos before restoration: link And this is the T26 at Cartagena during its restoration, also very interesting photos of the interior: link Do you need info for other tanks apart the T26?. |

BTW, looking for info I've found interesting information about the Panzer Is. The Panzer Is painting were not Panzer Grey. But a tricolor scheme, the grey colour is a long-time mistake:
Found an interesting discussion in Spanish here: link |

Even so, we are talking about the mid-1930s… and I have seen all three colors in one place or another [French and British tanks] Well generally I'd think the interior of an AFV would be color is came in based on the nation. I.e. German, USSR, Italian, etc. But there is the rub. |

Yes, the interior probably would come in the national colors the tank came with. I have seen B&W photos of Panzer 1s in Spain that are definition mono-colored outside and probably the original German gray, but they obviously also camouflaged too. Oh, and thank you to Gaz0045: I was wanting a look at the latch mechanism and periscope on the driver's side. Nice link, Uncle Goblin. The discussion even covers the Dragon model of the Pz 1. |

Inside of a tank needs to be white, because it is very difficult to see things in there. |

As I said, probably white as it would help make the interior less dark … But what colors were the interiors of the AFVs in the SCW ? |
