I finally picked up a boxed set of female fantasy soldiers, and I chose Frostgrave's Soldiers II boxed set.

All of the plastic sets that Osprey makes for Frostgrave are great minis. and this set is no exception.

They did a good job of sculpting female faces without making them look too overly done or exaggerated. The body components are very well done as well, again suggesting the female form but without it being overly done.

As with their other boxed sets you get a bunch of options and opportunities to customize your soldiers. And my favorite aspect of all, you get lots and lots of field gear like backpacks, rope, etc. that really bring the miniatures to life.

The heads are separate components so you can use these female heads on virtually any other 28mm plastic bodies you wanted, such as GW's Empire soldiers, etc.

I haven't started building them yet but the size of the bodies and heads appears to put them very closely in line with the scale of like GW's 28mm human models like Empire and Bretonnia.

Overall it's a great set and really useful to add some female soldiers to your existing fantasy regiments or to add to your Frostgrave warbands.

Thank you for the review!

I wish they had better and more head sculpts!

These would be very good for Norse Shield Maidens, if so …
