Today, we did 'What a Tanker' at our club, a game well worth playing if you haven't already!

I have done a report on our first 2 games, which I hope you enjoy! Its at this link

Enjoy!

Enjoyed it very much! If I had the time I would like to do some scenarios using "What a Tanker!", such as:

1. Panther commander Ernst Barkmann taking on a bunch of Shermans.
2. The ridiculous Sherman charge against a Tiger from "Fury".
3. A scenario I call "Tiger Woods": a German tank (all tanks to the Allies were "Tigers") blocks the entrance of an important road through a heavy wooded area.
4. Lone German tank or tank destroyer with limited ammo takes on a horde of Soviet T-34's.
5. A couple of Tigers has to fight through a Soviet tank park to escape to friendly lines.

And I am sure I can find/think of more. Again, your game synopsis was thoroughly enjoyed!

Looks and sounds like fun.

Thanks for sharing your battle report(s).

Are there any rules for adding in anti-tank guns, tank-hunting infantry with bazookas, panzerfausts, panzerschrecks, teller mines, etc.?

Also, any rules for infantry, and firing on them?

Hi Thresher01, At the mo, there are no official rules for anything other than tanks..however…

I would use AT guns as stationary Tank Destroyers, with an armour of 2 (4 if dug in)
Infantry tank killer teams I would give a move of 3". Armour 1 (4 if dug in) and a strike of 8 (bazooka/PIAT) or 10 Panzerfaust/Panzerschreck and a maximum range of 24".
AT guns and Infantry have Attributes of SLOW, Low Profile and Small.
Infantry v infantry fire team combat I would ignore, as a different set of all arms rules would probably work better!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. They sound good, and quite reasonable.

I imagine standard skirmish rules can be used for the MGs vs. troops in the open, or prone.

Then, just need to work out the cannon fired HE shell effects vs. them. No doubt, mortar templates should work for that.

Been wanting to do a bit of tank on tank, and tanks vs. defending infantry and anti-tank gun games of late.
