Does anyone knows of any good sources dealing with the "Ungarnkrieg" and the composition of the forces involved? Also, would the Habsburgs have used their newly acquired low countries troops in the austrian territories? |

The only book I have ever encountered is "Die Feldzüge des Königs Matthias Corvinus in Niederösterreich 1477-1490" by Gyula Rázsó (Wien 1973). For the most part the Low Countries were tied up in either the struggle with the French or the internal revolts against Maximilian. Though Albrecht of Saxony could have brought some "burgundian" troops with him when he moved east to face Matthias Corvinus. |

Don't know much about the Hungarian war, but I have read a bit about the Habsburg-Burgundian Netherlandish army and seen no sign of any involvement in Hungarian affairs. |

Thanks Daniel! Does the book mentions this possibility of burgundian troops under Albrecht of Saxony? Would those be heavy cavalry or foot troops? Thanks GurKhan! |

GurKhan – Do you have links to info on the Habsburg-Burgundian military from this era? I'm interested it in the Burgundian-French conflicts, so don't want to hijack the this thread…. |

Don Sebastian, I've actually never read the book, the only copies I have found were too expensive for my taste considering that it is a fairly small volume that was published as part of the "Militärhistorische Schriftenreihe" which was jointly published by the Austrian army museum and the Austrian military science institute. I would also recomend checking Hermann Wiesflecker's massive work on Maximilian. |
