I've been working on a winter war scenario for Rapid Fire rule set.

Some scratch built terrain and some resin buildings I bought. Also Sgt Majors German winter infantry and the start of winterized vehicles.

Buildings are resin with winterized. Back yards are a mix of MDF kits and scratch built.

very nice indeed! The Vallejo special washes and pasts seem to work really well.

Looks convincing at least to a Finn.

Oh my gosh amazing terrain and the vehicles arent bad either! Looks more like a professional diorama. Especially like your scratch built barb wire and winter effect on the strands. Nicely done sir.

Very realistic.

Thanks Gents!

tomrommel1 – the white wash is very thin, so I added some white paint in my palette. The Mud is very thick so added some water.

Lonkka1Actual – I live in Canada so yes I'm familiar with winter. However a compliment from and Finn is a complement indeed.

Marc33594 – The barbed wire was quite the task. I measured and drilled out holes in matchsticks, also the wood bases. Glued the poles into the base. Painted the wire with brown ink and cut to size.
Threaded the wire through the holes then painted the poles, because if I painted the poles grey first, they would fill with paint. Then put dried moss on the base painted it white, then covered the wire, poles and moss with Woodland Scenics Soft Snow Flake using white glue.

Garryowen – Cheers, that's what I was looking for.

Footprints in the snow is some pretty serious attention to detail, nice work

I am very impressed. You should do some YouTube videos on how to do this right.

Thanks Gents!

BrockLanders-I was sitting looking at the back yards and thought wouldn't they look cool with footprints!

Rallynow- I lot of these techniques I found in a book written Pat Smith called Setting the Scene, Winter Wargaming. There was a limited run printed last year and I managed to snag a copy.

I changed some of them and got the barbed wire idea from another gamer. It took some figuring, but worked out.

Terrain looks fookin' great. Although I must admit I was expecting to see Finns and Russians in budenovkas.

Thanks Maha Bandula. Yes this is a western front battle Jan 1945.

Winter vehicles finished.
