Dumb question and genuinely do not know. How were the pontoons secured? Were they tied to posts driven into the river bed, or anchored to the river bottom somehow, or even just to the shore?
Nice model though whatever. The surf in the water is particularly effective |

It would depend on the situation and the width of the river. They would start with being anchored to the bank and then to posts driven into the riverbed as they stretched out. In the middle of really deep rivers then anchors of various types would be used. |

Liam. Try link Franznap, of course. 1/72. Naturally. Excellent pontoon work. I need say no more |

Definitely answers my question. All three! Tied to the shore, secured by pillars and anchored to the riverbed….plus tied to each other. I love the dedication shown by the trio wearing cross belts and not another stitch of clothing! |

LoL – that one caught my eye, and made me wonder why their kit was not stored with their uniforms |
