"The Star Wars galaxy is home to some of the most iconic starship designs in popular culture. We know the fabled wedge of the Star Destroyer roaring into view at the start of A New Hope, the legendary silhouettes of X-Wings and TIE Fighters are burned into our minds. But one oft-forgotten ship has made a bit of a resurgence, decades after its debut.

When you think of Rebel Alliance capital ships, your mind probably turns to things like the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser, or the Nebulon-B Frigate, or even smaller cruisers like the "Blockade Runner" Corellian Corvette. But even most Star Wars diehards probably can't recall the Braha'tok-class Dornean gunship—they might even dismiss it as a weird product of Expanded Universe-based embellishment. But the Braha'tok is actually straight out of the movies. It debuted on-screen 36 years ago in Return of the Jedi, making blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearances in the Battle of Endor sequences…."

Absolutely don't get the point. Is is that there *is* an obscure ship in Star Wars? Or that there shouldn't be an unremembered ship? Or that the ship is worth more attention than it got/gets? I think all these evaporate as soon as you consider the corresponding null hypotheses: are we supposed to remember every ship? Is every ship worth equal time and attention?

I once went to a con dressed as the alien on the TV in the background of the chomper sequence from Galexy quest. He got a few seconds.

And as a breeder from SG1. They only got one still image of two guys shocked faces over about a second.

This ship appeals.

I think the point may be this:

In the 10-20 years between ROTJ and TPM, Star Wars fandom was starving for something NEW.

When the RPGs were released (and maybe even before), it seemed nearly every ship, alien, vehicle, weapon, and earring was the subject of at least one lengthy technical article, fanfic biography, or novel.

The fact that there is ANY ship in the original trilogy about which nearly nothing has been written or documented IS rather remarkable at this point.
