I have been reviewing my plan for a Russian force for 1812-14. I have Perrys and the usual suspects lined up but I also have a couple of questions regarding other sources of figures. 1. How do you order Avanpost Miniatures? 2. Recently reviewed were some 28mm Russian artillery from another manufacturer. I have lost the reference on TMP. Can anyone help out? Many thanks. |

Dropshort, I have ordered from Avanpost a few times, always no problems to the UK and lovely figures. When the first order arrived I suspected I was in for disappointment as it was such a small light box, but being resin they were all there, neatly and safely packed! Tally Ho! |

Your second Question: Maybe you mean STP-Miniatures from Russia |

Nick, Dropshort? Really? Sounds like the typical infantryman's lament. However, many thanks for the recommendation. That encourages me even more. Balduris, thanks for the info, but the range was definitely greater than what seems offered here. |

I have ordered from Avanpost and like the figures. But note that you will have to assemble them (either the resin or metal figures) and they often come in 6 parts. If you don't enjoy assembly maybe they are not for you. They are also, I think, quite pricey and, with the metal figures, my superglue really struggles to do the job. But they are probably the nicest sculpts out there and I will get more soon. |

Ah found it! TMP link Commisar Miniatures. They look good. Has anyone had any experience of them? |

Re. Commissar Miniatures: I have bought a set of their Russian Officers and two sets of Cossack Artillery. Great figures, very detailed and with natural poses. Cheers, Peter |

Spoerken, I have just made and received the same order. The figures arrived quickly after a quick and efficient ordering system. The quality is excellent with little flash except on the underside of the bases. The design is completely compatible with Perry figures and at first glance look like products from the twins themselves. They are a bit more expensive than Perrys but well worth the effort to get hold of. link |
