I have seen occasional pictures of WW2 Japanese Armour painted a greyish color. How often did this ocure? Did these belong to Japanese Navy?

My understanding is that these are Navy vehicles.
Also more likely earlier in the sino-japanese conflicts. i.e. more likely Pre 1937.

Anyone care to confirm this or blow it out of the water?

Late war, in one of my reference books , they said vehicles were painted olive drab, no camo but I do believe grey was for the "Navy" vehicles.
