As the above subject states I'm looking to find some stl files for World War 2 aircraft that I could print at home in 1:285 scale to go with my micro-armour games. Obviously I'd love free files if anyone knows of them (that are legal) or at least reasonably priced ones. I found some stuff on shapeways but they wanted $10 USD-15 an aircraft which I may as well buy remade ones at that price.

Anyone know of a good site?

Thank you.

Scotia Grendel makes very affordable minis in metal.

They're worth checking out.

If you have your own printer, there have been a number of 1:300 or so WW2 aircraft files posted on Thingiverse over the last few weeks. Even 15mm could be scaled down pretty easily with a bit of a massage in you software.

bsrlee do you remember who the designer on thingiverse was? I've been doing a little searching on it and found lots of vehicles but was short on the aircraft; however, I find thingiverse sometimes hard to search and find what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Captain_Ahab_62 posted some aircraft but mostly late or post war. Some ships and markers from MikeENZ and deweycat.

I tried 1:285, 1:300, 6mm and Cruel Seas as search parameters, but the scale ones brought up odd results each time I checked, probably too many results confuses their search engine.

15mm also brings up some aircraft files of varying quality, just adjust the print size in your software.
