I thought that it was time to revisit this show, but I find that the website is still advertising 2017.

Is this show still going, and if so, when is it?

Peter Pig are all packed and ready to go. PP will have a buccaneers ship game at the show.
Yes on the 3rd February 2019.

It looks like the most up to date info is on the York Wargames Society facebook page webpage doesnt seem to have been updated since 2018

I noticed that weeks ago but have had no luck asking them for an updated list for this year. I assumed they had done as so many have done and migrated to Facebook only (which I don't use) but that looks to be wrong too.

Maybe they have decided that free advertising is too expensive !!!

Sad that so many shows are failing through inertia, just hope this one doesn't go the way of Triples and Derby.

I'm going and I know a lot who are going so it will be OK at least this year.

1 of the busiest shows in the UK. Always worth a visit.

I know several people who were going last year, but on seeing that the website was not being updated, assumed that the show had gone bust.

Money lost. Traders take note. Organisers take note. This is not how to run a business.

The obsession with facebook is not only losing shows money, it's costing clubs. I recently found that there was a club 10 minutes from my front door. They'd been operating for 5 years and I never knew.

Why?

They never advertised … except for Facebook. Yet most wargamers search on the internet.

This aversion to advertising seems to be a British thing. Then something has to close and what do we hear? 'We never got any local support'.

Well, doh.

One day show organisers and traders will realise wargamers are a fairly conservative bunch and many couldn't give a toss about Facebook.
