How the sergeants of the order of hospitallers could wear the "Chapel de Fer"(kettle hat) with the "cappa clausa" (The "coule", also called cuculle (of Latin cucullus), is a hooded clothing worn by the monks. )?

Because with the hood it's impossible

Maybe they wore the helmet over the hood?

Perhaps you wear either, but not both at the same time.

I was told the same thing as Karelian Knight …

But maybe the "Kettle Hat" was not used in that order?

Leave the hood down.

Yes I was told that too, it's excellent…

But I think it's weird …

Swampster13 Jan 2019 3:59 p.m. PST

No weirder than wearing something in battle that was so unsuitable they were given dispensation to not wear it – eventually.

And then it's the ideal helmet of the sergeants … So in combat he wears it and the hood is lowered …

Finally, I hope…

And for the field of vision it's better to have the hood down in combat.

It is my understanding that helmets were often only donned for combat or when there was a was imminent threat of combat.

Other head coverings being worn until then.

The problem is that he has Templar representations with the Kettle Hat and there are none for the hospitallers?
