In an Grande Armee army list for 1809 I have units similar to these in Oudinot's II Corps Bn d'elite (8th, 24th,45th Line)(3bn)(1,550 men) Are these the Provisonal (aka 'converged') Grenadier regiments? If so did they all wear Bearskins? How would you rate them (FoG uses Elan and Training, for TMP purposes 1 – low to 3 – High) I'm guessing High Elan. |

And now I've found somewhere that says its actually the 4th bns from those rgts, (so not grenadiers, actually new conscripts). Any ideas which it is? |

In 1809, the French II Corps included two divisions formed largely of newly raised 4th battalions from regiments serving elsewhere than Central Europe; they included a thin leavening of experienced troops, the tirailleurs du Po and Corses. These 4th battalions were line troops, but are often confused with converged grenadier or light battalions, in part because Oudinot had commanded such a division in 1805-7. The 1809 formations were known as "grenadiers d'Oudinot," in spite of the fact that they included no greater proportion of elite troops than any other line unit. |

Thanks. I'll treat them as conscripts. |
