We've been experimenting with these for a while now. Should we keep them, or get rid of them? Are you using them?

StoneMtnMinis09 Jan 2019 4:44 p.m. PST

In order: no, yes, no.

Rottcodd09 Jan 2019 4:52 p.m. PST

yes, no, no

pmwalt09 Jan 2019 4:55 p.m. PST

Yes, no, yes … I like them, but only occasionally remember to use it. Probably would need to be under each pane in the comments area to have more utility.

John Leahy09 Jan 2019 4:56 p.m. PST

Never should have them.

Winston Smith09 Jan 2019 5:02 p.m. PST

Don't use Facebook.
Don't want to.
I see them on the page and ignore them. Do what you want with them. It's your site.

Ragbones Supporting Member of TMP09 Jan 2019 5:23 p.m. PST

I didn't realize that they'd been added! Shows how attentive I am.
My first thought was that it might be a convenient and quick way to show appreciation for someone's post but then I thought it's probably better (at least for me) that I take the time to write something positive. After all, the person took the time to post something I liked; the least I can do is take the time to say thank you, or add to the discussion.

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP09 Jan 2019 5:30 p.m. PST

I forgot they were there. So I'm not using them and if they stay I'll forget again.

John Armatys09 Jan 2019 6:00 p.m. PST

I don't use facebook, so don't use them.

DisasterWargamer Supporting Member of TMP09 Jan 2019 6:07 p.m. PST

Might be more effective if they show in the topic lists – Gives you an idea how popular a topic might be

Perhaps a #read and #like?

warwell09 Jan 2019 6:38 p.m. PST

Where are they? I'd use them if I knew they existed. Definitely keep them though.

I haven't seen any visible sign of the buttons, but I'm running an old browser.

Personal logo Bashytubits Supporting Member of TMP09 Jan 2019 7:28 p.m. PST

I don't see them on either of the web browsers I use.

repaint09 Jan 2019 8:25 p.m. PST

I have stopped using Facebook. No real persistent information, any voice is mostly lost in noise now, dirty tricks from FB to keep your attention. Huge time waste when I think long and hard about it.

Zephyr109 Jan 2019 9:21 p.m. PST

I don't go to Facebook, but keep it around; Maybe the TMP Bug will start infesting FB too… evil grin

KSmyth09 Jan 2019 9:23 p.m. PST

I don't see them, but would like them. My browser is Firefox, does that matter?

jurgenation Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 1:23 a.m. PST

Yes .i love em.Great idea.

GildasFacit Sponsoring Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 2:21 a.m. PST

Until this post I hadn't even noticed them.

As I don't 'do' Facebook I'll now just ignore them so do what you want.

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 2:30 a.m. PST

No Yes No
Never use any social media.

Dynaman878910 Jan 2019 3:08 a.m. PST

They are barely noticeable so keeping them is fine. I may share something someday.

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 6:30 a.m. PST

I don't see them – ?

Personal logo ColCampbell Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 7:01 a.m. PST

Joe – They are off to the left under the "Back to" buttons.

Didn't even know they are there.

Legion 410 Jan 2019 7:45 a.m. PST

News to me !? huh?

Personal logo miniMo Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 8:23 a.m. PST

Never seen any "Back To" buttons either….

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 8:47 a.m. PST

I didn't know they were here.
I don't use FB.
I'd be all for "like" button on posts.

Personal logo Flashman14 Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 9:00 a.m. PST

No, Yes and No

I don't want my responses to go to Facebook – I just wanted an alternative to having to type Nice! or Good Job!

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 11:38 a.m. PST

I agree with StoneMtnMinis:

In order: no, yes, no.

Gear Pilot10 Jan 2019 3:00 p.m. PST

Wouldn't make more sense to have the like button on individual posts rather than the thread itself? That way we could give a +1 to specific posts without adding another post just to say "+1 so and so".

Gear Pilot10 Jan 2019 3:06 p.m. PST

I didn't notice the buttons either until ColCampbell pointed them out.

Far left side, up at the top, three boxes down from where the title of the thread is shown.

Thresher01 Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 7:20 p.m. PST

No
Yes
No

I have no issues if others want to keep them, since they are pretty unobtrusive, since I hadn't noticed the buttons either.

Personal logo The Beast Rampant Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2019 10:10 p.m. PST

Ah! I see them now.

Wouldn't make more sense to have the like button on individual posts rather than the thread itself?

Yes, that would have made a lot more sense. I would have used that.

wrgmr110 Jan 2019 10:36 p.m. PST

News to me, where are they?

Personal logo miniMo Supporting Member of TMP11 Jan 2019 8:28 a.m. PST

Ah wait, the Back To links, not buttons, got it. Oh look, and there are FB buttons; no I don't think I would bother using those.
