Not exactly terrain & scenics, but how to hide it all — an old-fashioned deployment screen. Many ogre scenarios call for hidden deployment during set-up, revealed on the first turn. kludging screens with boxlids and flotsam gets tiresome and I wanted something flashier for convention presentation.

My wife did the sewing for me; she's the wife with the fiber arts skills. I'm the wife with the shop skills and took some S-hooks to the bench vice for a little adjustment — widened one end so the curtain rod sits nicely, and scrunched the other end for a snug fit over the vertical QRF holders. For bonus design feature, once the curtain is removed, the QRFs are easy to find and have a small footprint on the table! We'll be making four of these curtains for upcoming convention use.

A very useful and satisfying project, well executed. Well done to all concerned.

I want one.

I love this. Where did you get the plexiglass QRF holders?

Lucius:

I'm seen those at Walmart or just about any office supply store.

Acrylic sign holders. Staples has them at the highest prices. Amazon wasn't bad. Since I wanted 8 of them to run (4) 2-player games at a time at conventions, the best deal I found was an Azar 10-pack shipped through Walmart.

Walmart also had the best price for cheap cafe curtain rods. Thin velvet from Jo-Anne's Fabrics. 1.5" S-hooks from Home Depot.

The fabric is 4' wide, and the rod extend rod extends 28"–48".

Neat !!!! So you hear "You sunk my OGRE !" Not "my battleship !" … wink

After deployment, everybody hums "God Save The Queen" and we lift the curtain to begin the show!

Clever idea, now widely promulgated!

So, your wife… does she have a sister?

Yes…. but she does the sewing for them too!
