The Battle of Magnesia (190 BC) has been on my to do list since the Consular Army project of nearly three years ago. This battle holds a particular fascination as it will bring two unequal size forces to the table.

In :preparation for this battle I had done a number of test games to refresh my experience using pike against blade and the diverse troop types of the Seleucid army.

At the blog are some key items learned in the series of tests.

Always been a battle of particular interest to me as well, ever since we did it decades ago with WRG 6. One of my first mega battles.

Played it several times using Justin Taylors Alea Iacta Est rules on a large table. Won using both sides, highly enjoyable.
