Dress wise that is?

Personally I most resemble a Hungarian line infantryman in campaign dress who's lost his hat. And his musket.

Blue trousers, off-white shirt with no jacket, dark grey overcoat, hide knapsack containing laptop (who knows what they had in there?).

OK, no brass buttons and I don't have one of those moustaches you can see from the back, but in 28mm, me and the Gyulai would be two peas in a pod.

Which of your figures do you most resemble?

Winston Smith07 Jan 2019 2:51 p.m. PST

The obvious answer is a 3D print of an AWI general with my head on it.
I was scanned at Historicon.
It was by Minuteman Miniatures.

I also use a Front Rank civilian figure "portly Gentleman with tankard".

THere is a Warhammer 40k Imperial Cadian Captain with a big belly and he looks just like me.

From the forehead up, increasingly like Sir Rowland Hill.

14Bore07 Jan 2019 3:22 p.m. PST

Not sure that at 15mm they all look like me or none of them do.
Maybe should paint a figure like me and stick him in the ranks.

My 6mm Squats in blue and gray. Except for the beards, I bear a strong overall resemblance to a GW squat.

Has anyone got hands as big as their head, or one arm longer than the other, or acromegaly, like so many 28mm minis?

Actually, I greatly resemble the 28mm figure of me which
was sculpted by Chris Hughes of Sash and Saber Miniatures.

I don't know what he calls it, nor do I know if it is
commercially available (sure HOPE NOT !) but I have a
half-dozen and members of our gaming group use them for
various purposes…

One of my medieval knight miniature. Stationary mounted on the field, with visor down, in case of random arrows or bolts flying about. Also like the nearby standard bearer with family heraldic arms flapping about.

Saunders University High School team from Girls und Panzer. Of the Saunders figures I've converted for gaming use, Alisa would be about the closest. This is a sketch of me with the cosplay I was wearing while running GuP games at Anime Boston in 2017:

Ever since the firm I work for reintroduced "Business Formal" – Picton, yes I'll turn up to the office in a frock coat on occasions.

I'm not sure I have a vague middle aged bloke with glasses miniature.
Maybe one of my zombies.

Oppiedog08 Jan 2019 10:06 a.m. PST

Normally, any "dead" figure would be a good representation.

Well neither of these characters looks much like me and yet my wife insists that there is something about them that definitely reminds her of me……….?

The Guards officer in the Perry miniatures AWI interrogation pack (book in right hand, left outstretched) as he was sculpted by Alan Perry with me in mind! :-)))

Hmm. You know, if someone really did "pulp" Sydney Greenstreet…I'd be the version without the fez.

Blutarski09 Jan 2019 9:52 a.m. PST

LOL!

W a y b a c k in the day, at New England War Gamers Assn, Steve Manganiello (a devilish wag indeed) converted and painted up a mounted Napoleonic British General officer figure that bore a remarkable resemblance to NEWA "President-for-Life" Dick Bryant …. complete with his brown-fringed bald pate and round eyeglasses.

Any maker's Duke of Cumberland figure. :^(

Of course there is a way of cheating. If you cannot find a figure that looks like you, well there is the technology these days, on any PC. Wish I could afford Photoshop!

Deadhead
Knowledgeable, erudite, modest and now film star looks – that I can stomach.
But to suggest Tango is possibly not a real person, given your vulnerabilities, well all I can say is … Nicely played (benign) Irish AI.

My figures are all much better looking than I am. Better painted, too.

I am African-American. I had a friend who painted up a Napoleonic Russian general, and made him black. He gave the figure to me as a gift. I love that figure!

4th Cuirassier14 Jan 2019 3:33 a.m. PST

@ reggie

Excellent anecdote. Wasn't there an actual Russian general of black ancestry, or am I thinking of Alexandre Dumas' dad?

Barin114 Jan 2019 6:39 a.m. PST

There was one- Abraham Hannibal, who was from Ethiopia, promoted to general by Peter the Great. He is mainly known here as an ancestor of Alexander Pushkin from father's side. Therefore a black general will be more suitable for 18th century campaigns.

Which do I most resemble?

Any old-style Front Rank figure placed on a table full of 20mm plastics.

Glencairn19 Jan 2019 4:20 a.m. PST

Me, I'm just the dead figure marker at the rear of your model batallion..

14Bore19 Jan 2019 2:16 p.m. PST

It does have me thinking of making one as me in each army
