What is the basis or source for their being mounted on reindeer, or whatever those are? I apologize if this question has been asked before

Fantasy?
Cool factor?
Some really fine weed?

I think they are horses with added antlers for the extra wow factor…

Corporal Fagen03 Jan 2019 12:26 p.m. PST

I was thinking that might be it

The antlers are strap on to horses the straps and buckles are easily visible on the castings. A word of warning the Amazons in the myth part of the catalogue don't fit well with the ones under amazon part of the catalogue.

Where is the "amazon part of the catalogue?" I've become interested in Amazons on account of my new Trojan War project.

Similar decorative antlers have been found in Scythian tombs which were meant to be strapped to the top of the horses head – probably dating from the 5th to 4th centuries BC. Eurekas Amazon heavy cavalry are based on the Scythians

DF – Thanks, that's what I was looking for

GurKhan – See, on the US site they're grouped together

It might be worth looking at the Shadow Forge 'Dark Temple' part of the catalogue link as they fit well with the Amazons from the Amazon part and the officers from the myth part don't.

Look at the Australian catalogue it makes it clearer than t US one but order from the one nearest you.

Hmm, I can't seem to find those on the US site

Pity the whole Shadow Forge ranges seem to be missing in the US site. I can get everything no bother UK.

The officers and musicians from the myth range that is offered on the US site look like early teens next to the mature Amazons and the cataphracts mounted on ponies. Very nice figures but the fit is not good with the rest
