The Kremlin's Foreign Ministry said it expects the territory to be handed to Assad's forces after US president Donald Trump announced a pullout from the country last week – a move that surprised allies and sparked the resignation of two of his top aides.
Turkey has said it is working with Washington to coordinate the withdrawal of US forces but remains 'determined' to clear US-allied Kurdish fighters from Manbij in northern Syria. While I would prefer to tell both to pound sand, it's not like the Syrians will leave any Kurd alive either. |

No surprise, as the Kurds have been asking the Russians and Syrians to shield them from Turkey. link Makes sense. The Syrians should take back their own territory. Assad is here to stay. The sooner the west accepts that reality the better. |

The sooner the US pulls out of Syria the better. Too many factions in play; we don't need to be stuck in the middle. The Assad's have rules Syria for many decades; it is not for the US to tell the world how Syria should be governed. |
